Storm victims urged to fill out damage assessments
The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency is currently in the area assessing damage from last week’s storms. PEMA’s assessment, plus damage reports from individual homeowners and business owners, will be used to determine if the area qualifies for federal and/or state emergency aid, including financial assistance for individual homeowners and businesses.
If you suffered damage to your home or business due to the storms, it is extremely important for you to fill out a Damage Assessment Form as soon as possible. These forms are available from your local municipality, and also at my offices. Once you fill out the form, return it to your municipality. These damage reports will be compiled by the Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety and forwarded to PEMA.
If you have questions about the Damage Assessment Form or storm response efforts in your municipality, you can contact your municipal emergency coordinator. The emergency coordinators for all Westmoreland County municipalities are listed here.
As always, you can contact my offices for more information on this or any state-related matter.
PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION ON TO ANYONE WHO MAY NEED IT.
